A Culinary Weekend in Tuscany

At Le Fagianaie you can experience a proper weekend of Tuscan culinary delights thanks to the estate’s gourmet restaurant and the possibility to sign up for some cookery classes.

The wonderful Biagio Pignatta Restaurant is situated within the estate in which Le Fagianaie is located.  The restaurant serves a truly refined cuisine which is lovingly created through the use of the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients.

The restaurant’s food philosophy with regard to the use of only the freshest ingredients is underwritten by the presence of its own 5,000 square metre kitchen garden which enables the restaurant to rely on its own supply of fruit and vegetables for the preparation of a wide range of imaginative dishes.

Coupled with this is the ability to source both wine and extra virgin olive oil which come from the Tenuta di Artimino estate in which Le Fagianaie is situated.

This is, therefore, an ideal location for lovers of good food and wine and for anyone who wants to enjoy an impeccable dining experience from every perspective.

The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner and is always delighted at the prospect of surprising our guests with the excellent standards of cuisine on offer and the chance to tantalise their palates with new and unexpected flavours.

Suitable homage is paid to traditional dishes which have been revisited with a modern twist.  An enticing menu showcasing the best from both the land and the sea provide a range of options for guests to choose from and special attention is paid to the culinary traditions of the Medici with particular dishes that have their roots steeped in this period of Italian history, including the famous Duck à l'Orange or duck breast à la Catherine de Medici.

All the ingredients used in the kitchen have been locally sourced and include fresh fish, particular cuts of meat, Tuscan salami and local cheeses.

Spending a magical weekend with us near Florence can be perfectly finished off by attending a cookery class.  The lessons are held in the Biagio Pignatta Restaurant itself with the Head Chef, Michela Bottasso, and the following two options are available to choose from:

  • A Tuscan cookery course
  • A Medici cookery course

These courses are available in both English and Italian and do need to be booked in advance.

You can choose from a lesson lasting two hours or a whole day which can combine the cookery classes with a tasting lunch or dinner.

There is also an option for families with children as Le Fagianaie offers cookery classes designed for children where they can learn to make cupcakes and other types of desserts.
